The Nintendo Switch Lite is quickly approaching its September 20 release date (coincidentally, that is the same day that The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening comes out, which I am only kind of, maybe, sort of losing my mind over). Nintendo is ramping up promotion for the cute new system: today, Nintendo UK chimed in with a brand new commercial titled “Welcome to the family, Nintendo Switch Lite!” The video clocks in at just under two-and-a-half minutes long, and showcases all sorts of people in all sorts of environments playing all sorts of great games on the Switch Lite. You can check out the video below.
I’ve only got a few issues with the trailer, with the main one coming at the end: why didn’t the dude playing Fire Emblem plug his damn Switch in to charge at the end of the night? You just hate to see that.
The smaller, sleeker Nintendo Switch Lite will release on September 20 with a few technical improvements over the original model and an attractive $200 price point. Our initial impressions of the system were very positive–Nintendo’s new handheld will fit in just fine, even if it does not do much Switching. Ahead of Nintendo’s jam-packed Holiday 2019 line-up, the Switch Lite is arriving just in time for gamers who prefer a more dedicated handheld experience.
