Nintendo Switch has been a huge hit in its first two years on the market. That said, there’s still plenty of room for growth. At $300, Switch is a bit too pricey for many of Nintendo’s handheld fans. That’s where Switch Lite comes in! After a year of rumors and reports, Nintendo finally confirmed the new model exists earlier this month. As of today, it’s officially available to pre-order on Amazon. You can pre-order the gray model by clicking here. There are also pre-order pages for the yellow and turquoise models as well.
Why pre-order Nintendo Switch Lite?
If you’re new to the Switch family, is Switch Lite right for you? That depends on what you’re looking for. Switch Lite is smaller, sturdier, and has a longer battery life than the standard model. It’s also, of course, much cheaper. However, it’s lacking some key features of the standard model. It does not have detachable Joy-Con controllers or HD rumble, for example. However, the biggest change is that it can’t “switch” like the standard model. In other words, it’s handheld-only. A regular Switch can connect to a TV via a special dock, but the smaller model cannot.
So if you’re looking for a cheap way to play Switch’s fantastic line-up on the go, Switch Lite is a solid purchase. But if you want the full console experience, you might want to stick to the original model. If battery life is a major concern, you might want to wait for the revised Switch model that’s coming out soon. It’s largely the same as the launch day model (including its price), but some of the internal hardware has been improved. The end result is better battery life.
