Following the leak earlier this week, Nippon Ichi Software officially announced Warui Ousama to Rippa na Yuusha for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. The title translates to “Evil King and the Honorable Hero,” and it’s about a heartwarming tale between a young girl and a dragon. If you guessed that it might be related to The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince, it is a new game by its creator, Sayaka Oda.
Warui Ousama to Rippa na Yuusha follows a young girl who is the daughter of a deceased hero. The father of the girl once fought and defeated a demon lord dragon who ruled the world. However, instead of delivering a killing blow, the hero decided to take away the King Dragon’s powers by chopping off a horn and let him live in peace. The hero regularly checked up on the dragon as it quietly healed over time. Over time, the beast’s terrifying nature softened, and they eventually ended up becoming good friends.
One day, the hero appeared with a grave wound and a baby in his arms. He told the dragon that his time was coming to an end, and as his dying wish, he asked the King Dragon to raise and take care of his daughter. From that point on, the dragon decided to dedicate the rest of his life to the girl. The young girl, named Yuu, quickly grew older and decided to become an honorable hero, like her father before her. As for the dragon, he decided that he would raise the girl to become an honorable hero. He decided that he will continue to look after her, even if she has to defeat him one day.
Nippon Ichi Software will release the game physically and digitally in Japan for 7,678 yen (~$72). A limited-edition version featuring an original box, mini-artbook, and soundtrack CD will also go for 9,878 yen (~$93).
