Nippon Ichi Software has been teasing something new, and it’s been revealed as a “time loop exploration adventure” game called Asatsugutori for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. The announcement and first details come from the latest issue of Famitsu magazine.
While the initial teaser appeared to be a horror game, Asatsugutori is more of a survival game that uses time loop elements to make it through outrageous situations. The protagonist has a unique ability to rewind time, which activates whenever a murder takes place. The game takes place in an unknown building that houses eight girls. However, nobody knows how or when a murder will occur, and it can happen anytime. To make matters worse, since the victims don’t know that they’re about to die, they might not always be willing to cooperate with the protagonist, so it’ll be up to you to figure things out.
As for gameplay, it features an investigation part, which you rewind into after a murder takes place. The investigation part is in real time and consists of searching for information and clues. Since the information you find changes depending on the time of day, you can rewind as often as needed.
Asatsugutori launches for Switch and PS4 in Japan on November 25, 2021. The game will cost 7,678 yen (~$70.32) at launch.
