Nintendo official Super Mario Mask San-ei Boeki social distancing coronavirus Nintendo merchandise apparel Amazon Japan

In the midst of worldwide protests against police brutality and in support of equality, it’s easy to forget that — oh yeah — we’re still in the midst of a global pandemic that has killed over 100,000 people in the United States alone. However, in the fight against COVID-19 novel coronavirus, you have another tool at your disposal: this official Super Mario Mask from San-ei Boeki, which will be available on Amazon Japan from July 26. (Thanks, Japanese Nintendo.)

This is apparently actually a re-release of this particular product. The Super Mario Mask has dimensions of 5.1 x 3.5 inches and is 100% cotton with an antibacterial deodorant filter. Equally importantly, you get to put Mario’s big nose and moustache on your face, which could upwards of quadruple anyone’s attractiveness. (I crunched the numbers.)

Incidentally, the existence of coronavirus is also affecting global shipping, slowing down shipments or, in some cases, outright preventing packages to be shipped globally. How this applies to a behemoth like Amazon is unclear, but it is known that Japan has placed severe restrictions on shipping. So set appropriate expectations if you choose to purchase this item.

Although, if you just love the idea of an official Super Mario Mask and don’t care how long you need to wait to have it, then it’s full steam ahead from here, baby!
