One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 isn’t set to arrive in Japan and overseas until March 27 of next year, but that isn’t stopping Bandai Namco from building up hype for the Dynasty Warriors-style action game early. With a massive cast of playable characters that only grows larger with each iteration in the series, there are going to be plenty of trailers highlighting the bevy of playable protagonists in this anime action adventure. Bandai Namco has started us off with three new trailers, two of them focusing on Luffy in different eras of his swashbuckling career and a third that focuses on series regular Crocodile.
The first new trailer for One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 shows off Monkey D. Luffy himself, the chipper protagonist of the exhaustively long-running One Piece anime and manga series that this game is based on. This is him with his standard set of abilities, letting loose with a variety of stretchy-limb combat powers.
The second trailer for One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 is focused on Monkey D. Luffy… again! This time, though, it’s a playable version of him in the New World era of the story. This version of the character has a wildly different array of stretchy combat powers, as well as the iconic Gear4 Boundman transformation and the Gear4 Snakeman transformation, giving this version of Luffy a nearly endless array of ways to lay down the beatdown.
The third and final trailer focuses on… not Luffy! This one is all about Crocodile, also known as Mr. Zero. He’s one of the most iconic villains in the franchise, and this trailer shows off his hook-handed swagger as he lays waste to hordes of enemies.
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 is set to release for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC worldwide on March 27, 2020.
