Yesterday, Capcom announced a remaster of Onimusha: Warlords is in the works for Nintendo Switch. Conspicuously absent from the announcement was any indication of a physical release in the West. Until today, when Capcom quelled all fears…
…with a Japan-only reveal for a non-digital version of the samurai title. Rejoice, Americans!
Regardless, us Westerners who like to save memory space still have some hope. Capcom’s Okami HD also had a Japan-only physical edition, but since it contained an English localization, gamers could import it for their region-free Switch. If Onimusha: Warlords follows suit, a physical version of the game would be within reach. Otherwise, players will have to buy the title on the PS4 or Xbox One if they want a case adorning their shelves.
Onimusha: Warlords will launch in Japan on December 20. The west will receive it on January 15, almost a month later.
Are any readers importing Onimusha: Warlords due to this news? Is anyone going to buy it on another platform? Or are you praying to the gods Capcom rethinks their digital-only distribution outside of Japan? Let us know below.
