Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Ori and the Will of the Wisps launched on Switch not long ago, and it’s apparently amazing. What’s not great, though, is a number of technical issues some gamers are reporting while playing the title. These range from the game freezing, gameplay slowdown, and random crashes, some of which we experienced ourselves. Thankfully, Moon Studios is aware of the problems and is ready to fix them.

Perhaps I’ll wait for the physical copy of Ori and the Will of the Wisps before I play

News of the bugs first appeared on Reddit, with user jkdubb lamenting:

I love the Ori games and maybe it’s my fault for buying this one on Switch but this game crashed over 30 times in the 16 hours it took to 99% the game.

The complications varied from user to user; some had the same experience jkdubb had while others had no problems whatsoever.

Regardless, Moon Studios’ game director, Thomas Mahler, has a patch incoming, telling ResetEra:

We’re on top of all of that, no worries. A patch that should iron these things out will drop soon ūüôā

Thomas also mentioned the patch will be included in the physical version of the game.

Good on the devs of Ori and the Will of the Wisps to be so on top of things. However, it’s odd to see these issues appear on Switch when the same ones plagued the Xbox One version of the title. Alas, game development is a complicated business, so we should cut the developers some slack.
