UPDATE: May 10, 2020 — At some point during the evening/early morning hours, Nintendo’s teams were able to restore functionality. Now, the network services are all reporting to be operating as normal.

If you’re trying to do anything online on your Switch, 3DS, or Wii U like accessing the eShop or playing online, you’re probably not getting through. This is due to some technical difficulties that Nintendo is currently facing with its network services. The issues have been ongoing for the past few hours, and now the company has publically stated that it’s looking into the matter:
We are aware that players are experiencing errors accessing Nintendo network services and are working to address the issue. Thank you for your understanding and we hope to share an update when available. https://t.co/ji7VJD0Njf

We’ll keep you updated as to what’s going on as the situation develops. But, it seems like the technical work is going to go on for at least some time throughout the rest of the evening.
