Overcooked 2 has seen a steady supply of DLC since it released back in August of 2018. The chaotic co-op cooking game has seen a handful of large paid expansions, but there have also been numerous free updates that add new seasonal festivities and characters into the mix. The gravy train isn’t slowing down yet, because a brand new free content pack called the Spring Festival Update is hitting the game today on all consoles.
This Overcooked 2 update is based on the Lunar Calendar, providing a variety of content that ties into the Year of the Rat that’s just been ushered in. Players will be able to whip up some delicious dishes in five brand new kitchens themed around the season, with a few levels containing an obstructive giant dragon that’s sure to be a headache as you navigate the kitchen.
You’ll be serving up a variety of juicy hot pots and delicious fresh fruit platters, and while the dishes themselves aren’t brand new, the chefs whipping them up are. The Spring Festival Update for Overcooked 2 adds two new chefs — rat chef and turtle chef. Normally I wouldn’t trust a rat in the kitchen, but this one seems pretty legit.
The Spring Festival Update is available now on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC and will be available on Xbox One soon.
