PAC-MAN Championship Edition 2

It’s a time of great uncertainty. Since a lot of gamers are stuck at home, some companies have decided to reward them with free titles. Bandai Namco has joined in on the fun by making PAC-MAN Championship Edition 2 free for a limited time. Players can download the game on their console of choice between now and May 10. But one system is conspicuously absent from the deal: the Nintendo Switch.

PAC-MAN Championship Edition 2 is a different game on the Switch

The house of PAC-MAN shared the following words to the gaming public via a press release:

Our vision is to follow our slogan word for word and provide – “more fun for everyone.” We are striving to provide entertainment that everyone can enjoy in the hope we can bring smiles and laughter to video game players throughout the world during this difficult time.

I guess “everyone” doesn’t include Switch owners.

One reason for the absence might the fact Championship Edition 2 is an enhanced port on Switch. Entitled PAC-MAN Championship Edition 2 PLUS, this version of the game contains a co-op mode. I guess companionship costs money.

As of this writing, the discount is live on Xbox One, Steam, and PS4.

Enthusiasts, why do you think Bandai Namco left Switch owners out of this sweet deal? Let us know your theories below!
