Paper Mario: The Origami King Tetris 99

Paper Mario: The Origami King is off to an impressive start, wooing series veterans and newcomers and Brett Medlocks alike. It’s also practically the only release we know of from Nintendo for the second half of the year. As such, it makes sense that the company wants to play the title up and make sure that players are aware of another potential hit in their midst. That’s probably part of why Nintendo has decided to celebrate Paper Mario: The Origami King in a Tetris 99 event starting this Friday on July 31 and extending until the end of the day on August 3. Those who collect 100 event points during this period may look forward to an unlockable in-game theme. Check out Nintendo of America‘s tweet below that revealed the event and even shows off a video of Paper Mario mashed up with Tetris 99 Pretty cool, right?

This is not the first game that Nintendo has celebrated within its popular Nintendo Switch Online freebie. Earlier this month, even, Xenobalde Chronicles enjoyed a quick shoutout soon after the release of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition.

Have you played Paper Mario: The Origami King? Do you think you’ll fire up Tetris 99 to partake in its upcoming celebration of the game? Let us know in the comments below.
