Paradise Lost Switch release date December 3, 2021 All in Games PolyAmorous 1980 post-apocalyptic narrative adventure

Publisher All in! Games and developer PolyAmourous have announced a December 3, 2021 release date for narrative adventure Paradise Lost on Nintendo Switch, and it is available to preorder for 40% off at $8.99 instead of $14.99. (You may even get it for 50% off if you own certain other All in! titles.) That pricing will continue until December 17 in the US, December 22 in Japan, and December 26 in Europe.

Paradise Lost tells a story set in a post-apocalyptic alternate-history 1980, where World War II raged on 20 years longer than normal and ended with the Nazis nuking Europe. (It’s probably not a comedy.) You play as lonely 12-year-old Szymon, who “finds a massive, abandoned Nazi bunker, an underground world, where Slavic mythology mixes with retro-futuristic technology,” and a “mysterious girl named Ewa contacts Szymon through the bunker’s technology.” The Paradise Lost Nintendo Switch release date trailer offers brief glimpses of the solemn experience.

People who have played the game describe it as a walking simulator, so you probably shouldn’t expect any gun-toting showdowns with irradiated Nazis. (There are plenty of other games for that sort of thing.) But if you’re looking for a nuanced exploration of a haunting world, Paradise Lost might give you that on Nintendo Switch in just a couple days.
