Developer EALoGAMES (Entertainment Art Logic Games) has announced that four-player co-op survival horror game Paranormal Hunter will launch in late 2022 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. On PC, the game will offer VR support with Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Valve Index, and Windows Mixed Reality, and it will enter Steam Early Access in Q2 2022, retailing for $14.99.
Paranormal Hunter occurs in a Japanese horror-flavored world that will see players “scouring abandoned hospitals, rundown houses, and more for cursed objects to summon tormented spirits.” Once summoned, you and/or your friends have to banish the spirits before their “dark energy spreads and consumes unfortunate souls.” Paranormal Hunter is really emphasizing the benefits of playing the game in VR, where an in-game watch will be used to measure your health and sanity, but that obviously won’t be an option on Switch or probably any consoles. Still, it sounds pretty cool, so check out the Paranormal Hunter teaser trailer.
EALoGAMES has a curious background, established in Japan by Takatoshi Tatsumi and comprising “elite industry veterans” who worked on Shenmue, Shenmue II, and Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine. PR claims Paranormal Hunter is the first game from the developer and that the studio was established in 2018. However, an existing EALoGAMES website lists several little mobile games that it apparently worked on, and it says the studio was established by Takatoshi Tatsumi in 2015. Perhaps the developers working on this survival horror game compose a newer branch of the company?
Paranormal Hunters is already inspiring mysteries!
