Back in June, we showed off Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan. The game is a smattering of genres, including RPG and puzzle platformer. One of its more unique gimmicks is collecting creatures through empathy rather than battle. For those wondering how this translates into gameplay, a new trailer for Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan has been uploaded that does just that.
A trailer for Rainbow Billy that is short and to the point
Check out the “battle” footage below:
It looks like Billy has a few tools at his disposal to gain allies.
Players start by talking things through to get a sense of an adversary’s personality. Then, they use allies they have already gained to match colors with the potential friend. Adding perks achieved through leveling up helps the process go by faster. Beating minigames and surviving an enemy’s attacks are key to filling their gray bodies with color. Once you bring some light into their souls, they become your ally.
There are a lot of strategies involved with these confrontations. It looks like a good mix of Undertale and Paper Mario: The Origami King. It certainly has me interested!
Enthusiasts, has this latest trailer for Rainbow Billy convinced you to buy the title on Switch later this year? Let us know below.
