Despite how much fun they are to watch at EVO, and despite the phenomenon that they were in ’90s arcades, fighting games are probably always going to be a somewhat niche genre compared to the most popular ones. Slapping Persona branding on it isn’t likely to change that much, frankly. But the good news is none of that matters because Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is a great game regardless of what the plebs are playing, and Atlus has released a new “Fight Trailer” with gameplay to show off all the pain coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam on March 17, 2022.
The Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Fight Trailer is mostly just about showing off gameplay, so if you wanna watch two people hit each other a lot, you’re golden. (Yes, yes, it’s a pun. Hah I’m so clever.) As a reminder though, here’s what else you can look forward to in the game:
- Ultimax Version – Includes all previously released Persona 4 Arena Ultimax content, including the original Persona 4 Arena story
- A Deep Roster of Playable Characters – Persona 3 fan-favorites and “Shadow” versions offer a range of fighting styles to choose from
- Dual audio – Choose between Japanese and English VO
If you’re more a PC gamer, there is a deal going on to buy a bundle of both Persona 4 Golden and Arena Ultimax for 30% off on Steam, and if you already have Golden, you can still take advantage of the sale price for Arena Ultimax. Otherwise, if the Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Fight Trailer gameplay has gotten you in the mood for a beatdown, you’ll be able to grab it for $29.99 on Switch in March.
