Persona 5 Scramble Gameplay

Yesterday, viewers at EVO Japan 2020 were treated to a brand new trailer for Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. The video clocks in at just over a minute long, exploding with high-octane gameplay and dazzling cinematics exuding Persona 5‘s distinctive style. Check out the trailer below, courtesy of Persona Central.

Did that steal your heart as much as it did mine? Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers is lookin’ good. Combat in particular looks really, really fast-paced and colorful. Playing as the Phantom Thieves squad and trying out Personas in real-time has me intrigued way more than I anticipated upon the game’s reveal.

I originally was not that excited for Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, but the maintained social elements, the continued story, and some very tight-looking gameplay are all drawing me in more and more. The game has quietly snuck up my list to become one of my most anticipated titles on the year.

Are you looking forward to Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers? Are you happy to see the series come to Switch, or would you rather have seen some of the mainline RPGs head over instead? Does the new genre excite you, or just dampen your interest? In my opinion, the original game deserves to go down as an all-time great–it’s my second favorite of all time. As such, I hope that more people get to play it eventually, but in the meantime, spin-offs like this will have to do the job.
