Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers exploration platforming Koei Tecmo Japan release date

Starting well before the game’s official announcement when we all interpreted its P5S codename to mean something else entirely, the public response to Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers has been a bit of a roller coaster. Many of us were originally hyped beyond measure at the prospect of P5S being the heavily requested (but fervently denied) Persona 5 Switch port, only for those hopes to be immediately yanked back to reality by the reveal of a Persona-themed Musou game. That was originally disappointing for a whole bunch of fans, but subsequent gameplay reveals have landed the game right back on our radars. Even more gameplay and behind-the-scenes footage is available as of yesterday. Four new uploads on the Persona Central YouTube channel show off Fox in action, daily life in Sendai, combat in Shibuya Jail, and a look at how the Persona 5 Scramble theme song was made. If you’ve got time to kill and hype to build, check ’em out below.

What do you think? Persona 5 Scramble is high on my wishlist–it looks to be a fantastic, true-to-form follow-up to one of the best JRPGs ever made. What do you think of the game? Are you planning on picking it up? Would you have rather had a straight-up Persona 5 port? Let us know in the comments.
