By now, you almost definitely already know if you want Persona 5 Strikers. Atlus, Koei Tecmo, and Omega Force are converting Persona 5 into the Warriors format, while retaining all of the exploration, intrigue, and “teenagers against overwhelming forces” that the Persona franchise is known for. And importantly, it functions as a direct sequel, continuing on the narrative of the game’s deeply beloved characters. In effect, Persona 5 fans have no choice but to play Persona 5 Strikers, and thus, the latest trailer for the game eschews plot details for all-out action and tons of explosions. Here, look at all the things getting hurt:
The story of Persona 5 Strikers that the All-Out Action trailer tiptoes around involves the Phantom Thieves on a road trip during summer vacation to rectify “corruption overwhelming cities across Japan.” They will be dealing with the effects of a “distorted reality.”
Koei Tecmo and Omega Force really seem to thrive off of the energy of the series they adapt, and Persona 5 Strikers looks and feels utterly faithful to everything Atlus created for what was once a traditional JRPG. And the optimism runs deeper than this new trailer, as the development team also recently delivered Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, another fantastically faithful adaptation of a deeply cherished IP. Omega Force may be approaching its peak level of performance.
