Last week, a trailer accidentally leaked the release date of the Persona 5 Strikers localization. Today, Atlus launched the game’s website and trailer, giving us the first official look at the upcoming title, as well as confirmation of the February 23, 2021 release date.
Persona 5 Strikers is a Warriors-style action RPG co-developed by Atlus and Koei Tecmo, which acts as a sequel to the hit Persona 5. When the Phantom Thieves of Heart meet up for a vacation, things take a turn for the worse, and they’re roped into solving yet another series of crimes. Along the way, you’ll visit six different Japanese cities, cook regional recipes, and help others with their problems. Much as with other Warriors titles, Persona 5 Strikers features a large roster of playable characters, with each of the original Phantom Thieves having their own unique style and abilities.
If this sounds appealing to you, you’ll be able to pre-order your copy as early as this Thursday, December 10 at 7:00pm Eastern. Launch editions of the game come with some extra goodies, including a behind-the-scenes video, digital soundtrack, and digital art book, but there are also some retailer specific bonuses for pre-ordering. At GameStop, you’ll be able to snag a Joker lapel pin, while at Best Buy, you’ll get a SteelBook case.
As an added bonus, be sure to tune into The Game Awards on Thursday, December 10, as vocalist Lyn Inaizumi will be putting on a special performance during the pre-show! Inaizumi is known for her work on Persona 5, with hits such as “Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There,” “Last Surprise,” and “Rivers in the Desert,” so this is sure to be a highlight of the evening.
