Persona series

Atlus is on a hot streak. Its future is looking bright: both Shin Megami Tensei V and Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster are heading to Switch in 2021. When we look at the developer’s present, things are also coming up roses. According to recent sales numbers, the Persona series is crushing it. Persona 5 Royal, Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, and Persona 4 Golden are all shifting major units.

We need the Persona series on Switch

Let’s take a look at the digits: the PS4 title, Persona 5 Royal, has sold over 1.4 million copies worldwide. The Switch/PS4 Musou game, Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, has shipped out over 480,000 copies in Japan, where it is exclusive for the time being. And Persona 4 Golden has hit 500,000 sales after launching on Steam. All in all, the Persona series has sold 13 million units worldwide. Nothing to scoff at!

Where does that leave Switch? Well, it’s looking like Scramble, at least, is going to get localized for other territories this fiscal year. As far as the other two titles, they seem to be locked to their respective platforms at the moment. More ports mean more money, though, so I am optimistic Nintendo Switch will get more Persona love in the near future. As long as we get Persona 3, 4, and 5 on Switch, I’ll be a happy man.

Enthusiasts, what do you think of these sales milestones? Are you hoping the Persona series will hit Nintendo’s hybrid console soon? Let us know below.
