Pikmin 3 Deluxe trailer what are pikmin cute visuals video Nintendo UK

Nintendo has released an English version of its Japanese promo trailer on Pikmin 3 Deluxe. The original version was released back in August, teaching us the origins of Pikmin and how to utilize them in-game. Now that the English version is out, we get a better idea of what the video contains.

It’s a neat promo trailer for the upcoming re-release, interlacing gameplay clips with cute cartoons. It shows you how to get Pikmin to follow you and what they can do to to help you out. Building bridges, destroying walls, and carrying important objects, these little creatures are incredibly useful in helping us get around.

The Pikmin help in combat scenarios too. They can protect players from powerful enemies, especially when used as a group. This is a two-way street though. Pikmin are vulnerable if not handled properly, and they also rely on you to survive. The trailer further shows how each color of Pikmin has a unique trait, which is worth nothing for when Pikmin 3 Deluxe launches on Switch.

The real highlight though is the cartoon clips. Here, the Pikmin look incredibly cute, and honestly we’d love to see a future Pikmin game styled this way. It would make a nice handheld experience, possibly as a 2D adventure, and would have probably fit on 3DS better than Hey! Pikmin did.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe launches for Nintendo Switch on Oct. 30.
