The Xbox One S controller is considered by many to be one of the most comfortable controllers out there. If you own one for your Xbox or PC, then you might be happy to know that you can also now use it on your Switch via a little adapter from 8BitDo.
The 8BitDo USB Adapter for the Switch tricks the system into thinking that a Pro Controller is connected to it when in actuality you can be using all sorts of different controllers: a Dualshock 3 or 4 (PS3/PS4 controller), Wii Remote, Wii U Pro Controller, and now an Xbox One controller.
All you have to do is plug the little adapter into one of the USB ports on the Switch dock, pair a controller, and you’re set. A new firmware update was recently released for the adapter which made a few improvements to its functionality (for PS4 controllers) and also added support for the Xbox One S controller (note: the Xbox One S controller differs from the older model as this one has Bluetooth).
If you own the adapter already, update it to firmware v1.13. If you want to check out the adapter itself, here’s a product listing.
