Starting next week Pokémon GO players can add Celebi to their arsenal. Through completing special research tasks, the psychic and grass type Pokémon will be yours on August 20. However, in order to get Celebi, players must also have completed the tasks related to the legendary Pokémon Mew.

This month is not the first time Celebi became available in Pokémon GO. During last month’s Chicago GO Fest, attendees were able to add Celebi to their Pokédex’s, and if you attended the festival and already have Celebi you can complete the tasks and receive candy for the Pokémon instead.

Celebi made its first appearance in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver in 2001. As both a Psychic and Grass Pokémon, it can use attacks like Confusion, Leech Seed, Future Sight, and Magical Leaf. Per the Pokédex in various games, Celebi is also a time-traveling Pokémon who brings an egg from the future when it first appears and leaves it behind. As the newer games were released, more information about it was released, including how it only appears at peaceful times.

Earlier this week we reported players will also be able to add Chikorita to their Pokédex’s on September 22. What are some other Grass-type Pokémon that you love? Comment below!
