With Pokémon Home launching this month, Nintendo has begun to give certain news outlets hands-on time with the upcoming Pokémon cross-game transfer utility, with outlets like Inside Games, Game Watch and 4Gamer publishing hands-on previews of the mobile phone and Nintendo Switch application. Thanks to those articles, we now know a hefty amount of brand new information concerning the service.
Firstly, Pokémon Home will provide up to 200 boxes of storage if you subscribe to the Premium version. You’ll be able to transfer Pokémon between games by simply dragging and dropping them from the app box to your games box, but you cannot place or transfer eggs in Pokémon Home. Furthermore, if you transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu/Eevee, they will only retain their full abilities when transferred into Sword and Shield.
Inside of the Pokémon Home app itself, you have a variety of ways to organize and view your pocket monster collection. You can search your boxes based on a variety of specific criteria, and the National Pokedex in the app is sectioned off by region, allowing you to view all Pokémon from specific areas like Kanto or Johto. The GTS even allows you to see which game your specific Pokémon have originated from.
Pokémon Home is set to launch sometime in February of this year.
