Early next year, Game Freak will launch Pokémon Legends: Arceus on Nintendo Switch. It’s a new take on the Pokémon formula that borrows a lot of ideas from Monster Hunter, and it’s set over a century in the past. Back then, it seems the Sinnoh Region was known as Hisui, and it was a largely unsettled wilderness. The latest trailer for Pokémon Legends: Arceus hints at how dangerous and mysterious Hisui is with some disturbing found footage. Check it out below!
Pokémon Legends: Arceus found footage trailer
A mystery Pokémon surfaces in Hisui
According to the description for this new Pokémon Legends: Arceus trailer, this strange footage was found by a researcher in the Canalave Library. The Pokémon Company encourages fans to dissect the footage with the following message: “Please examine this footage and report back with your findings—they may prove useful during your adventures in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.”
The trailer is from the perspective of an unknown traveler stumbling through a frigid corner of Hisui. It’s hard to make anything out through the static, but you can hear him describe a mysterious new Pokémon. Here’s what we have to work with:
“Is that a Growlithe? No, a Vulpix. No, not that either. The tip of its tail is red and swaying. It’s adorable! The white fur on top of its head and around its neck is so fluffy. Its eyes are round and yellow.”
The found footage angle is a neat change of pace from The Pokémon Company, and it seems to be effective at getting people interested in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. What do you think the mystery Pokémon will turn out to be? And what’s up with video recording equipment existing that far in the past? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
