Pokémon Masters

The latest Pokémon mobile title, Pokémon Masters, is off to an impressive start. As of just four days post-release, the game had already been downloaded more than 10 million times. This was confirmed by the game’s official Japanese account in a heartfelt thank you message.

Pokémon Masters has players square off in 3-on-3 battles with an active time system. Our own Steven Rollins has written up his early impressions of the game, where he praised the unique-yet-familiar take on the series while lamenting the easy story mode, gacha mechanics, and microtransactions.

According to Steven, Pokémon Masters is worth a download for now, and in the future, some quality updates and new modes could give the game staying power similar to Fire Emblem Heroes. There is already future content planned, so hopefully, it can deliver and build something great.

While it will be virtually impossible to reach a fraction of the success of Pokémon Go, which celebrated one billion downloads earlier this summer, Pokémon Masters is off to a hot start that marks another successful mobile foray for the series.

Are you part of the 10-million-strong Pokémon Masters community? What do you think of the game? Let us know in the comments.
