2021 is a big year for Nintendo, with a bunch of franchises celebrating their anniversaries. We have the likes of Zelda and Metroid turning 35, Donkey Kong entering his forties, and of course Pokémon hitting 25. The Pokémon franchise has already seen some love this month, with merchandise announcements and more. It now looks like the anniversary celebrations will be making their way over to McDonald’s in the U.S. in February for Pokémon Happy Meals, via PokéJungle and @PkmnTrainerAbel.
Leaked photos have surfaced that supposedly showcase Pokémon Happy Meal goodies and exclusive Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) cards at McDonald’s. The photo also hints at this being a part of the 25th anniversary, as the logo for the occasion is sitting in the top left corner.

There will be seemingly four TCG cards included with every Happy Meal. From the photograph, these cards feature the starters and of course Pikachu. If you’re after them all, it looks like you might need to purchase a few Happy Meals. While not confirmed, this could make its way over to other territories as well. For example, the U.K. has received Pokémon Happy Meal promotions at McDonald’s in the past, so it will be unsurprising if an announcement is made.
