Pokémon Oreo

Following the trend of random collaborations, The Pokémon Company will be partnering up with Oreo Cookies in September. This was announced on the official Oreo Twitter, where a Pikachu seemingly uses Thunderbolt on an Oreo. For the time being, not much is known about what this collaboration will entail, but hopefully we’ll get Pokémon-themed Oreos.

This Oreo partnership may be due to the fact that Pokémon is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. So far, we have seen a lot of merchandise, trading cards, and even a Katy Perry music video. In October, Pokémon Trading Card Game will receive its 25th anniversary expansion, Celebrations. The highly anticipated generation four remakes, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, will be released in November. There is seemingly no end to the “PokéMania,” and we are likely to see more announcements before the year is over.

Also this month will at some point see the release of Pokémon Unite, the free-to-play MOBA by Tencent’s TiMi Studios. If you are interested in Pokémon Unite, we have published our first impressions from playing the Japanese beta test. With video games, merchandise, and a Pokémon x Oreo collaboration in September, there’s a lot to be excited about right now.
