The Pokémon Company has announced that some Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass news is coming tomorrow. The announcement was made through the company’s official Japanese Twitter account, providing a link to its website for expansion pass news.

The Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass will add two entirely new islands for players to explore, starting with the Isle of Armor. Each island has a new story to explore, new Pokémon, and of course new legendary Pokémon to uncover, capture, and create a team to battle your friends around.

While the official news on the expansion pass has been light since its reveal, we did recently get some information as the result of a datamine. This leak uncovered a list of new moves, but it didn’t show the Pokémon that they relate to.

Currently the Isle of Armor for the Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass has a release window of June with no specific date. It’s possible that at the time of this reveal, 6 a.m. PT / 9 a.m. ET / 2 p.m. in the U.K., that we will finally have a release date for the expansions. Pokémon Sword and Shield were the first mainline Pokémon RPG games on Nintendo Switch, and they blew a lot of fans away. Hopefully this DLC can do the same when it launches.

Check back soon for further developments.

Started out playing Metroid 2 on the GameBoy at around 5 years-old, and now I write about games all day long. Can't play Switch and drive, I've tried. As time goes on the Switch is quickly becoming my favourite console of all time.
