As Pokémon Sword and Shield draw nearer, Pokémon fans are undoubtedly itching for more news about the upcoming games. Game Freak has not disappointed, revealing new characters, new Pokémon, and new game mechanics all in the past week. The hype train has continued with the announcement of a special Pokémon Sword and Shield trial event.
Per Japanese Nintendo, this upcoming trial event will allow Japanese players to get hands-on access to Pokémon Sword and Shield. The event will take place in Tokyo on Sept. 21, 2019, from 10:00 – 12:00 JST. The name of the venue has not yet been revealed.
How to get into the Pokémon trial event
Access to the Pokémon trial event appears to be fairly restricted. Only 280 players will be allowed to enter the venue and play the games. In addition, attendees must apply online for the chance to attend.
To be able to apply, a player must be a member of the Pokémon Secret Club. Players can register for the Pokémon Secret Club by preordering Pokémon Sword and Shield. After placing their order, players will receive a serial code. Players can then use this serial code, along with their email address, to reserve a spot at the Pokémon trial event.
Due to the limited spacing, Japanese Pokémon fans need to jump on this opportunity as soon as possible. The Pokémon Company has not yet confirmed if this trial event will feature the same demo as E3. We also do not yet know if other hands-on events will take place internationally. Pokémon fans around the globe will certainly hope for the chance to try out this demo in the near future.
Pokémon Sword and Shield will launch worldwide on Nov. 15, 2019. Are you excited for the release of these games? Are you hoping for a hands-on trial event to come near you? Let us know in the comments or on our social media!
