Pokémon movie teaser trailer footage Pokémon 23

The Pokémon train never stops. New games are coming out in a matter of weeks, and a brand new anime series is set to debut soon. But of course, we couldn’t forget about the film department. This most recent teaser (which seemed to be filmed with the worst camera possible) reveals the next Pokémon movie is set to release in summer 2020. Check out the teaser below!

For now, this movie has only been announced for Japan. We can usually assume new Pokémon movies will make it to North America as well, but for some reason, there’s still not an English version of Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution. This most recent film was a retelling of the very first movie, Mewtwo Strikes Back. While some fans were uncertain of the new CG animation, other Pokémon movie enthusiasts are undoubtedly waiting patiently for news.

So, unfortunately, we don’t know if or when the new movie is coming to the West. But given that it’s a new 2D animated film rather than a 3D remake, the likelihood is pretty high.

Do you think we will we see the new Pokémon movie outside of Japan? Are you excited for the 23rd film in the franchise? Let us know what you think in the comments!

I love all kinds of video games. I personally find the most enjoyment in JRPGs, Visual Novels, and pretty much anything Nintendo makes. I'm always open to discovering new types of games, so I'll be happy to check out anything someone suggests.
