Pokémon Unite, the free-to-play MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena), is now available for Nintendo Switch. To celebrate the occasion, a Pokémon Unite launch trailer has been released on YouTube detailing what to expect from this competitive game. Additionally, the release of the game marks the beginning of the first ranked match season, “Welcome to Aeos Island!” Also as a reminder, if you log in before August 31, 2021, you will receive the mythical Pokémon Zeraora for free.
The first season of Pokémon Unite will feature useful items to help you in battle, which can be obtained by raising the level of your battle pass or by winning matches. Just like with other online games, competing in matches will generate experience that go towards leveling up the battle pass. There are different tiers available at launch, some of which are paid, but you can earn in-game currency by playing the game itself.
In addition to providing the launch trailer, The Pokémon Company has reconfirmed that the mobile version of Pokémon Unite will be arriving in September and feature cross-play with the Nintendo Switch version. Logging in with the same Nintendo Account or Pokémon Trainer Club Account will allow you to use your game data on the other platform.
