Poketoon Looney Tunes Pokemon cartoon classic style

The Pokémon anime has been going strong for over two decades, but every now and then The Pokémon Company likes to try something else out. In the past, they’ve used YouTube for animated mini-series like Pokémon Generations and the ongoing Pokémon: Twilight Wings. Today, they debuted something totally different, and I’m absolutely loving it! The new video is in the style of classic cartoons like Looney Tunes, and it stars Scraggy and Mimikyu. Scraggy gets more than he bargained for in “Chase the Beans,” and you can watch all the crossover fun ensue by clicking below!

Pokémon meets Looney Tunes

More Pokétoon to come?

It’s unclear at this point if this is just a one-shot video or the start of a series, but I’m sure hoping it’s the latter! Giving it the Pokétoon branding makes me a little optimistic about the chance of future Looney Tunes-style Pokémon content, but we’ll have to wait and see. I’d wager there’s a demand for this classic cartoon style, especially when you consider the incredible support that Cuphead received from the gaming community. We’ll be on the lookout for any updates from The Pokémon Company. Until then, I’m probably going to re-watch this a few more times.
