From toys with the amiibo figures, to theme parks with Universal and mobile devices — Nintendo has been branching off to a lot of different areas lately. Even so, they don’t intend to deviate away from dedicated gaming platforms anytime soon.
In a recent interview with TIME magazine, President Kimishima highlighted that with the NX in development, it shows that Nintendo’s foremost focus is that of supporting their dedicated platforms. Here are his full comments:
“NX [the codename for Nintendo’s next game system] is in development,” says Kimishima, reaffirming that Nintendo will have more to say about it next year, and calling it “a next step in our dedicated device strategy, the core and primary focus of our business.”
Considering that he also mentioned that the company intends to keep making software for the Wii U too, if you thought they were slowly moving away from gaming, think again.
