A peculiar thing happened at the Ubisoft Forward today. Despite previous listing leaks and rumors, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake was announced — but not for Nintendo Switch. Ubisoft only said the remake of the 2003 game would be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Jan. 21, 2021. However, the Ubisoft website lists the game as for Nintendo Switch as well, even including a digital purchase link to a Nintendo page for the game that isn’t live.
That seems like an awfully large oversight to make if Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has no plans of coming to Nintendo Switch. The most likely explanation may be that the game will come to Switch, but after January 2021. Analyst and industry insider Daniel Ahmad seems to suggest as much.
Not in January

If you missed it, Ubisoft Forward unveiled the first trailer for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, and it looks… mostly good. It’s only mostly good because the faces in this rendition of the game — especially that of the Prince — are hideous. I can’t emphasize enough how distractingly awful they are, as if this were a game made 10 years ago instead of a new remake of a game made 17 years ago. But that grievous oversight aside, fans seem to have something good to look forward to, especially because it also comes with the “original Prince of Persia game (’92 Mac version).” Hopefully it will indeed come to Nintendo Switch at some point next year. If not, we still have Immortals and Scott Pilgrim.
