PS4 Remote Play

The Nintendo Switch has been a force to be reckoned with since it hit shelves in 2017, but that wasn’t enough to top the console of the generation: the PS4. It’s a secret to no-one that Sony’s system has been dominating over the course of its now five-year run, and that momentum has yet to truly slow down. It turns out that both of these systems fought a decent fight throughout 2018, but the Switch still came out as second-best.

According to ‘Benji Sales’ on Twitter, the PS4 sold 17.7 million units throughout the year. The Switch, on the other hand, sold 17.4 million units. That’s a difference of roughly 300,000 sales; not massive, but still a gap nonetheless. This turnout shows that while the Switch is indeed very healthy, the PS4 still hasn’t hit the end of its prime despite having been around for a while now.
