Tetris is one of the most well-known and beloved franchises in all of gaming history. Veteran Game Boy players likely have fond memories of the original entry, since the game came bundled with the handheld. Having got its start all the way back in the 80s, Tetris has sold millions of copies across almost every mainstream platform thanks to its several different iterations. That’s why it’s not really surprising that a new partnership has been forged between The Tetris Company and PUMA, a well-known clothing company that mainly deals with street/athletic wear.

The two entities have joined to launch a new line of Tetris-inspired Puma sneakers that feature Tetris block-style soles. For now, we only have an image of the bottom of the shoes. A full reveal should come sometime in the near future.

According to a now-deleted Tweet, the new Puma x Tetris shoe line will launch in October 2019.

And don’t forget the game is still around too

In other Tetris-related news, a brand-new entry in the franchise just ‘dropped’ onto the Switch by surprise last week: Tetris 99. One of our writers, Eli Pales, recently published his review of the game where he awarded it a whopping 9/10, calling it “something special”. This is mostly due to its unique take on the now seemingly oversaturated battle royale genre of games that have cropped up all over the place.
