Read Only Memories: NEURODIVER trailer teaser 2 MidBoss Nintendo Switch release date Q1 2022 Xbox Series X announcement

Back in March, developer MidBoss announced that Read Only Memories: NEURODIVER is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store in Q1 2022. Today, Read Only Memories: NEURODIVER received a new trailer that provides a succinct overview of the basics of the game, in addition to announcing an Xbox Series X version of the game. (Frankly, it’s bizarre that version wasn’t already announced, since what could possibly be the difference between any of these versions of a low-demand 2D pixel art game?)

As previously explained, this new point-and-click cyberpunk title is a sequel to 2064: Read Only Memories, occurring a few years later and putting you in control of ES88 in Neo-San Francisco. ES88 is a psychic who uses a creature called a Neurodiver to enhance her mind-reading abilities, and she is tracking another psychic called the Golden Butterfly, who is “flitting between the minds of city residents and corrupting memories as they attempt to hide their tracks.” ES88 will attempt to fix the corrupted minds as she gets closer to finding the Golden Butterfly.

“Neo-San Francisco, with its cyberpunk mix of corporate interests, technological and biological advancement, and diverse cast with a lot of queer characters, has plenty of room for stories exploring the intersection of human nature with society and technology,” said Cade Peterson, CEO of MidBoss. “NEURODIVER asks what makes us who we are while furthering the stories of characters like Lexi Rivers from 2064 and the comics taking place between the two games.”

Despite receiving a new trailer today, Read Only Memories: NEURODIVER is still quite a ways away from release, so hold tight.
