Reggie Animal Crossing

Reggie Fils-Aime may have retired from his position as Nintendo of America President some time ago, but he’s still staying involved and connected with the gaming world. He keeps in touch in a few different ways, including his Twitter account, which was an instant success when he first made it last year.

Yesterday evening, Reggie joined crowds of other public figures and storied developers like Rare by endorsing social distancing in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis. He did it with a snapshot of a lone villager in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, presumably his own, keeping safe from COVID-19.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a colorful way for Reggie to send an important message. It’s also a useful illustration because Nintendo’s latest hit serves as both an engaging distraction during isolation and a helpful tool for staging normal-world activities like birthday parties and weddings, and it has even stepped up in remote work situations.

How are you observing social distancing? Does Animal Crossing: New Horizons ease the process for you? As for Reggie, he didn’t comment further on how he’s staying safe from COVID-19. Making that tweet took all of the time that he had, and now he’s got to get back to playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons on his Nintendo Switch.
