Former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé will be doing a meet and greet — with selfie opportunities (!) — at the 9th annual New York Game Awards on Jan. 21, 2020, and tickets are on sale now. Tickets come in a few different varieties, but they’re likely to go fast. So you may want to decide quickly if you want to go. Here’s how tickets break down:
- A $24 general admission ticket gets you into the New York Games Awards and its after-party, but you don’t get to meet Reggie, so it’s basically worthless.
- A $50 meet-and-greet ticket lets you meet Reggie, but you don’t get to attend the awards ceremony. The wording makes it unclear if you’re allowed to take a selfie with him.
- A $70 combo ticket lets you take a selfie with Reggie and also attend the New York Game Awards.
- A $100 “VIP in Front Rows” ticket offers no description of its contents at all, but we can presume it’s the combo ticket with a better seat included.
Want to take a selfie with me? Come to the New York Game Awards and purchase the special tickets! Net proceeds benefit the great work being done by @NYVGCC See you on 1/21/20! https://t.co/WVIPNIOUfc

Reggie Fils-Aimé joined the Board of Advisors for the New York Videogame Critics Circle back in September, so his attendance at this ceremony in January is hardly shocking. If anything — fingers crossed — it could mean there will be more opportunities to meet this legend of the industry in the future. Speaking of which, Reggie will actually be at the event for a specific reason: He’s receiving the Legend Award, and he will give a speech to go with it.
Are you nearby enough that it’s worth it to make the pilgrimage to meet Reggie? Let us know!
