presenter Reggie Fils-Aimé The Game Awards 2020 presents award

Reggie Fils-Aimé, one of the few people ever associated with video games who can be referenced by using just his first name, will be presenting at The Game Awards 2020. Reggie was of course president of Nintendo of America for nearly 13 years, and he is practically a staple of the video game awards show circuit. The difference this year is that everything is being handled digitally due to the COVID-19 pandemic, though The Game Awards 2020 will be broadcast live from Los Angeles, London, and Tokyo simultaneously on Thursday, Dec. 10.

Voting has been ongoing for the awards and for the Player’s Voice component, with Nintendo having a disappointingly scarce presence, though Animal Crossing: New Horizons is up for Game of the Year. Of course, awards shows are pretty trivial and meaningless in the first place, especially The Game Awards, so the nominees don’t matter. As usual, the much more interesting part will be new and surprising game announcements.

Meanwhile, Reggie Fils-Aimé has kept busy in his retirement, becoming a strategic advisor for Rogue Games, and he is trying to perform the Sisyphean task of keeping GameStop from going bankrupt. He has also been sharing some amusing anecdotes in various places.

What award do you think Reggie will present at The Game Awards 2020?
