Relayer is a space opera strategy RPG with mecha by Kadokawa Games

Kadokawa Games announced a “new age space opera” strategy RPG called Relayer in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. It is a brand new title by the development team behind the 2017 strategy RPG God Wars: Future Past.

The reveal comes from a preview of the May 27 issue of Famitsu magazine. That isn’t until this Thursday, but we’ll likely receive the first bit of information from the magazine starting sometime early tomorrow or whenever it leaks. According to the Famitsu preview, the issue will include a 14-page feature on the SRPG. The feature will include plenty of info from interviews with key staff members.

While the Famitsu preview doesn’t mention it, the official Twitter account specifies that the game is being developed by the God Wars team. The original God Wars released for the PS Vita and PlayStation 4 in June 2017 as God Wars: Future Past. An expanded version, titled God Wars: The Complete Legend, launched for Nintendo Switch about a year later in September 2018.

That’s all we know so far about the new project, but for now, you can check out a sweet key visual for Relayer featuring a couple of mechs battling in space on the cover of Famitsu issue #1695 below:

Kadokawa Games has yet to announce the platform(s) or release date for Relayer.
