Super Mario Sunshine Switch gameplay Super Mario 3D All-Stars Relive the Super Mario Sunshine intro cutscene, with Switch gameplay

Nintendo in Japan has released a couple of clips showing off Super Mario Sunshine running on Switch. The GameCube title is of course being released on Switch soon as part of the upcoming Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection. The clips showcase the intro cutscene, along with some gameplay snippets from early on in the game.

Reliving that introductory cutscene is such a nostalgia trip. Just like Mario, Peach, and Toad, we can’t wait to jet off to Isle Delfino once again. The cutscene is pretty much untouched from the GameCube version, aside from a resolution bump and widescreen support.

The gameplay snippets shared also show off the resolution improvements. We’ve got to say, Super Mario Sunshine on Switch looks like a decent glow up with HD, showing how good the game looked on GameCube. The video displays plenty of water spraying, and damn we’re gonna miss doing it with those GameCube analog triggers.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars launches Sept. 18 on Switch, bringing three classic Mario games to Nintendo’s hybrid system. That wasn’t the only Mario announcement we got last week though. Nintendo celebrated the Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary in style with announcements of a Super Mario 3D World port, an AR Mario Kart game, and more.

What do you think of Super Mario Sunshine on Switch, and which of the three Mario remasters are you looking forward to most?
