According to several sources and reported by Eurogamer, the upcoming Nintendo NX platform will use an Nvidia Tegra processor, quite the departure from the current systems. In their breakdown, Eurogamer and Digital Foundry likened the chip to that found in the Nvidia Shield, another portable console released two years ago that had a screen attached to a controller.
A lot of speculation goes on in the article, but one thing we know for certain: in its current state, the NX is weaker than current generation consoles. However, Eurogamer does speculate that Ninendo could possibly up the power of the console before its launch with an updated chip.
