Although we’ve seen additional characters in cinematics, the only confirmed combatants in Mortal Kombat 11 until now have been Baraka, Geras (a new guy), Raiden, Scorpion, Shao Kahn, Skarlet, Sonya Blade, Sub-Zero, and new female boss Kronika. However, Dual Shockers has talked with NetherRealm Studios Art Director Steve Beran, and over the course of the chat, Beran accidentally confirmed that Reptile will be fighting in the game.
Beran was describing a tag team mechanic present in Mortal Kombat 11 that allows for combat assists. That was when he let this slip: “Then there’s certain things like you can activate Reptile’s Acid Ball. It’s very nostalgic. You have these helpers, if you will. It’s a blast and we’re really happy about that.”
Yeah, that sounds like an open-and-shut case for Reptile being playable in the game. The character most recently appeared in Mortal Kombat X and first appeared in Mortal Kombat 2, and he’s been kind of popular the whole time. So if you were worried even for a minute that he might not be around this time, you can sleep easy tonight.
