Resident Evil movie images appear online, closely tied with game scenes

Images of the upcoming Resident Evil movie reboot have appeared online, via social media accounts. The pictures show scenes that thematically are much more in line with the original two games in the series. People involved with the project have made it a core objective to bring the movie more in line with the games. Here’s some early evidence of that.

A number of Resident Evil locations are shown off here. The most recognizable of which is the Raccoon Police Department, which looks absolutely spot on. There’s also the Gun Shop Kendo, which look like it’s been ripped straight out of Resident Evil 2 Remake. I mean, just look at that neon red glow.

We’re not sure how the movie itself is going to pan out, but visually it looks a lot more like classic Resident Evil. There’s more of a desperate, horrific look to the set so far, in stark contrast to those of the Paul W.S. Anderson Resident Evil movie series.

It’s worth noting that this has nothing to do with two upcoming Resident Evil Netflix projects. On the popular streaming platform, there’s a CGI Resident Evil series in the works alongside a separate live-action series. It’ll be interesting to see how Capcom juggles all of this with any upcoming game releases.
