Quarantine has been providing gamers with plenty of free time. And while having free reign to play is fun, we must remember to stay healthy and fit. But is there a way to marry exercise and gaming together? With Ring Fit Adventure‘s Ring-Con, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and some modding expertise, the answer is “yes.”

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is meant to be experienced with a circle

YouTuber Super Louis 64 is a Ring-Con modder who enjoys playing video games with the device. He’s tackled Dark Souls III using the peripheral but what about a title that’s even harder than that, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?

As Louis demonstrates in the video, running in place makes your kart move. Squeezing the Ring-Con uses items. You can steer using the gyroscopic sensors or Joy-Con.

Racing looks quite demanding using a fitness controller. Poor Louis ends up sweating so profusely, he can’t see the road due to the water in his eyes. I don’t know if I’d be down with such a rigorous regimen. When it all comes down to it, you can never outrace or outrun a blue shell.

Enthusiasts, do you think Ring-Con mods are cool? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!
