Thanks to the powerfully well-received remakes Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, it’s fair to say that Crash Bandicoot is back, baby. It would make sense if publisher Activision wanted to keep this momentum going, and a credible rumor says they intend to do just that. @New_WabiSabi, a leaker with a strong track record, says Activision has a new Crash game in the works. And it’s possibly being developed by Vicarious Visions, who was involved in the recent Crash remakes.
They said new, not a remake.

Sabi says that the source of this leak is unrelated to the separate rumor of “Crash Bandicoot Worlds.” Worlds is an unconfirmed project alleged to be in development that some are saying has already been debunked as bogus. In any case, some of the best cited evidence for a new Crash Bandicoot project being in the works is a PlayStation 4 commercial released earlier this month. In the ad, beginning at 0:11, you can see an apparently never-before-seen mask floating around some Crash kart racers.
But to be clear, nothing is confirmed. We won’t know for sure what Activision is up to unless they decide to tell us. That being said, The Game Awards next month would be an awfully nice place to announce a new Crash Bandicoot game.
