Rune Factory 4 Special Archival Edition heads to North America, Europe

When Rune Factory 4 comes to Nintendo Switch later this year, fans in North America and Europe will be able to cough up some extra gold to grab a special edition of the anticipated RPG re-release. Marvelous and XSEED Games have revealed Rune Factory 4 Special “Archival Edition,” containing a slew of bonus items and an appealing price tag of $59.99.

There’s a lot of extra goodies packed into the Archival Edition, and they’re all housed in a gorgeous, premium holding box with original art by the Rune Factory character designer Minako Iwasaki. Want even more illustrations from the legendary artist? Then you’ll love the 160-page art book that also comes with the Archival Edition. It’s a decent size, too, measuring 5.8″ wide by 8.2″ long. Not only does it have work by Iwasaki from Rune Factory 4, but it also includes illustrations from 13, as well as Rune Factory: Frontier and Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny.

If you’re more of an audiophile than an art obsessive, the Archival Edition has you covered. There is an official soundtrack CD, with 33 songs from the 3DS version of the game and three brand new songs included on it.

All of this is topped off, of course, with a physical copy of Rune Factory 4 Special for Nintendo Switch. Owners of the Archival Edition will also be hooked up with a special “Swimsuit Day” DLC that adds an option in the game to swap characters over to special swimsuit costumes.

Rune Factory 4 Special is set to release on Nintendo Switch sometime in 2019.
